About

copyrighted 2023- Canal Rescue and In-Water Vehicle Extrication is one of our original Mission Specific Distinctive Specialty courses designed for all levels of public safety professionals, volunteers, military and any other First Responder who may need to respond to water related emergencies. This course focuses on passenger vehicles with many of the same principals also applying to larger modes of transportation. Student receives an awareness level understanding, reinforced with practical waterborne, confidence building skills and scenarios involving forced access, searches, occupant assessment, extrication, ascent and shoring. Through a blend of scenario-based learning, step-by-step technical guidance, and real-world case studies, you’ll learn how to quickly size up canal and other aquatic vehicle incidents, assess hazards, stabilize vehicles when needed, and execute safe, efficient extrications from partially or fully submerged vehicles. Key topics include risk assessment, victim survivability profiling, hydrology and canal dynamics, vehicle behavior in water, rigging and tethering systems, contact and remote rescues, and interagency coordination. Whether you are part of a dive team, fire department, law enforcement unit, USAR or industrial response, this course will help you build confidence, improve decision-making, and help standardize operations in a high impact, low frequency incident. Complete the eLearning at your own pace then join us for the waterborne training.
