Books can't be guaranteed to be available at class with less than 7 business days confirmation with payment or PO. - Environmentally friendly training truck will be brought to your waterway.* - Six canal construction considerations and two design features that will make your scene assessment more complete, safer and more reliable. - Hydrology with specific focus on Delta Ps and reasons why flash flooding could occur without warning. - Resource Determination- Quickly establish what you can provide and what help you need, from where. - Scenarios address static, contaminated, swift (aerated, standing waves, obvious hydrology, challenging swim) and fuller body, slower moving water.* - Examples of applying the eight low to high-risk rescue options in a canal scenario. - Live Ladder truck, boat approach, DECON and rehab stations. - Float assessments and video case studies of vehicles in the water and how to use the environment to increase the likelihood of extricating all victims before a vehicle drops below the water line. - Recognizing stable vs unstable vehicles along the edge of a canal or in a moving canal. Vehicle Stabilization and techniques of approach. -Easy to set up plan B options for moving water rescue near shore. - RIT IS NOT your plan B. Why they need to be separate functions. -Vehicle Landing Positions and when to expect turtling. This course works through several techniques your department may be able to use involving both surface and submerged rescues. Students will assess, interact and respond to active as well as unresponsive victims. Utilizing our submersible, clean training vehicle, students will experience light entrapment, victim surfacing and multiple victims in this comprehensive aquatic extrication class. Top Water Rescue only is a full 10hr day with a one hour lunch. Settled at Depth training requires SCUBA.
